Creativity (Un)limited – Thinking Inside the Box for Business Innovation with Micael Dahlén
On Friday April 24th, Impact Executives UK joined Impact Executives Sweden for their bi-annual business breakfast. This time the focus was Creativity (Un)limited – Thinking Inside the Box for Business Innovation.
The well attended event saw executives gathered in Stockholm to hear Micael Dahlén, Professor of Economics at the Stockholm School of Economics who specializes in marketing and consumer behaviour, speak on how business innovation is created based on humans new-age needs.
Posing the question ‘What is happiness and how can we gain it in a world where, on average, we are only consistently happy for three months top?’ Dahlén concluded that humans search for other things to fulfil us and that it all comes back to communication. Ours is the only species that feel the need to communicate the way we do, as consistently as we do.
Humans are at their recorded peak with communication never being so open and available. So the answer to business innovation must lie within the way we communicate. Science shows that when people get together, our brains develop and grow to nurture new ideas. Surely this is worth promoting in every sense.
