Our client is a major supplier of chilled fresh foods to the major multiples.
They now require a Technical Interim Manager to have overall responsibility for the running of the Quality Assurance Department. The person will also have to stand in for the Head of Technical in their absence, supporting Technical Services, Marketing and Innovation within the department.
Specifically you will:
- Manage the day to day running of the Quality Assurance Dept
- Be the key technical contact with retail customers and oversee the technical contact of food service and processing customers.
- Liaise with Suppliers, regarding the product quality and performance of products.
- Analyse and evaluate customer KPI's and report performance to company, with initiatives for continuous improvement
- Maintain and improve complaint database reports, for identifying and analysing emerging trends, patterns and report to teams
Support production, by:
- Ensuring quality performance feedback is provided
- Assisting in product selection
- Providing operator / system guidelines to harvest rigs
- Assisting with actioning quality problems in the field
You will have at least three years experience in a similar role in a food organisation and possess all the usual management competencies. It is desirable that you also have a degree in food science/technology and a professional membership e.g. IFST, BASIS.
