Our client is a leading developer of transport management systems and is now seeking a highly seasoned and experienced Senior Project Manager.

You will work with their blue chip customers to manage the implementation of the new solution over a 12 month period.

Role Information

• Project planning in detail utilising project management principles for upfront activity and resource planning
• Ensure resources are in line with the plan and working closely with the customer project team, managing risks and issues, controlling change requests and tightly controlling project costs.
• Leading a pilot implementation on one site to test and validate the system before rolling out the solution accross the UK network
• Scope also includes final testing of the system (including User Acceptance Testing), installation of the in-vehicle equipment, training the drivers and operators of the system
• Maintaining continuity of service whilst achieving a complex transition from the old system to the new system

Role Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess or require:

• A significant track record in project managing large scale systems implementation across blue-chip and medium sized organisations
• Knowledge and experience of working in the transport or supply chain arena ie logistics is essential
• Some exposure to budgetary control
• Experience of working with key stakeholders
• Experience of delivering change projects and managing customers from a commercial perspective
• Frequent visits to sites across the UK
