Our client is a public sector organisation looking for an experienced Interim Senior Project Manager
The candidate will deliver on projects for specific aspects of the community such as women, disabled and Black Minority Ethnic (BME) with a particular bias towards the latter.
Role Information
- Implement strategy for Black Minority Ethnic (BME), Women and Disabled Business as part of the wider support policy
- Develop and manage the implementation of programmes, projects, concepts and events to address issues affecting the above described communities
- Manage and monitor complex projects to ensure delivery, compliance and benefits
- Contribute to programme/project appraisal and evaluation by carrying out investigations, conducting analyses and making recommendations
- Provide guidance and support to Project Managers, working with them to ensure delivery against plan and budget, resolve issues and maintain good working relationships with external partners
- Lead, manage and motivate the team to achieve excellence in performance and programme delivery
- Represent the organisation externally and internally to ensure the interests of the BME, Women and Disabled Business agenda are represented, understood and reflected in decision-making
- Advocate the interests of BME, Women and Disabled Business internally, so as to raise awareness, influence policy and planning
Essential Requirements
- 3yrs + relevant policy development and operational delivery experience
- Track record in BME or demonstrating an understanding of issues facing the BMIE
- Critical project management experience
- Public sector experience is mandatory and exposure to private sector is advantageous
- Strong stakeholder management experience and being politically sensitive to one's audience
- Highly developed communication skills (oral/written/interpersonal) with an ability to persuade and influence across the board
- People Management both (internal and external) - Be able to lead, motivate, manage, and develop staff and external relationships.
Desirable Requirements
- Expertise in equalities and diversities issues affecting London's multi racial and diverse communities, women and disabled led enterprises
