Impact Executives Roundtable – High Performing Teams
On Wednesday 14th of March Bruce Mair, our Head of Digital & Technology hosted a roundtable discussion for our interim community to discuss creating the right conditions for high performing teams. Rachael Hanley-Brown, Head of Leadership Consulting at Harvey Nash led the discussion which focused on; the challenges in creating a company culture in business reliant upon outsourcing, ensuring the presence of a company ethic and increasing communication in the technology community.
- Influencing Culture – Rachael introduced to the group social network analysis, where key influencers within the organisation are essential to understanding culture as well as changing that culture. It became clear that is this particularly challenging when outsourcing is involved. With each company having a unique culture and operating procedure. Here key influencers can be particularly useful when attempting to fuse different corporate cultures.
- Company Ethic – The ethic within a company is essential to success. Equally important is the need to assess employee feedback regarding the company ethic. This can be particularly useful for interims to ensure the success of their projects and is essential that it is understood by the leadership teams. There are also a host of new technologies that can aide in the collection and understanding of this data.
- Enhancing communication – It was noted that historically technological departments and teams have only been visible when a problem arises, as such there is a need to further develop the positives that the team or department is performing in order to enhance reputation in the wider organisation.
