IMPACT the journal for change leaders – Issue 29
Businesses today are struggling to adapt to the rapid pace of change. In fact, 87% of business leaders in our recent survey said their company is experiencing more change than ever before. And nearly one third said that half the change programmes they put in place to help, fail.
We’ve asked: why? Results point to poor stakeholder engagement, poor communication and a lack of passion and belief in the outcome. It’s hard to escape the conclusion that businesses are focusing on the wrong things.
In this issue of IMPACT we’ve explored the fine balance between passion and process:
- In Driving Macro Change, we look at the critical role of human response during periods of change.
- Elsewhere, we look at the importance of the first 90 days in a new job, and the value of a burning platform in catalysing change.
- Our case study – on Copenhagen Malmö Port – illustrates how effective interim managers can bring about significant change by marrying a rigorous process with emotional intelligence.
We hope this gives you a few pointers towards managing change effectively in 2013.
